I decided I wanted to become a CPS after an incident with an Primary Care Provider (PCP). The incident left me so shook I knew I had to be a voice for the voiceless. Society and its Stigmas regarding Mental Illness, Homelessness, Veterans, Substance Abuse, Low Income individuals as well as many more with labels that are considered by society to be negative and places them on the "back-burner" of society. Unfortunately, they don't feel they have a voice for whatever reason(s); but they do. They may not know how to use their voice or society stigmas have caused them to be silent; but Advocates like a CPS can change that. Not only helping them with finding their voice and assisting them on their life journey; but educate society in order to become STIGMA FREE.
